Warranty Policy

This Warranty Policy sets out the terms under which Calfab Limited trading as Vanbitious provides warranty cover for van conversions, installations and related services. It forms part of your contract with Vanbitious and must be read together with our Terms of Service, Return Policy and any written quotation. By accepting a quotation or booking you agree to be bound by this Warranty Policy.

 

1. Warranty Overview

1.1 Vanbitious provides a workmanship warranty lasting twelve months from the date the relevant work is completed.

1.2 This warranty covers defects arising from proven faults in the workmanship of Vanbitious.

1.3 Products supplied and installed by Vanbitious are covered only by the applicable manufacturer warranty.

1.4 Where a valid workmanship defect is confirmed, Vanbitious will:

(a) repair the affected area, or

(b) replace the affected item, or

(c) provide a reasonable refund for the affected part of the work.

1.5 These remedies are your sole remedies under this warranty.

1.6 Vanbitious is not liable for indirect or consequential loss including loss of income, bookings, accommodation or travel.

1.7 All warranty inspections and repairs must take place at our Aberdeen workshop unless agreed otherwise.

2. Exclusions and Limitations

2.1 This warranty covers only defects caused directly and solely by a proven workmanship error.

2.2 This warranty does not cover:

(a) products or materials not supplied by Vanbitious

(b) faults caused by customer supplied parts

(c) pre existing defects, corrosion or damage present before work

(d) wear and tear including catches, hinges, seals, linings and upholstery

(e) paintwork, bodywork, tyres, wheels or wheel alignment

(f) mechanical, engine, drivetrain, braking, suspension, steering, exhaust, fuel or cooling system components

(g) factory heating systems, air conditioning or coolant pipework

(h) water ingress caused by corrosion, ageing seals or original vehicle defects

(i) electrical issues not caused by Vanbitious workmanship

(j) environmental damage including storms, flooding or frost

(k) misuse, neglect, overloading or improper operation

(l) faults caused by third party interference, inspection or adjustment

(m) damage caused by poor quality, stale or contaminated fuel

(n) damage caused by exceeding load limits of the electrical system

(o) indirect or consequential loss of any kind

(p) failure of aged or worn components during normal vehicle operation or testing

2.3 Wheels and tyres supplied through third party partners are not covered by this warranty.

2.4 Vanbitious does not provide towing, recovery or transport for warranty issues.

2.5 Claims based solely on third party opinion or assumption will not be accepted.

2.6 Natural variation in materials such as timber, fabric or finishes does not constitute a defect.

3. Commercial Use

3.1 This warranty applies only to vehicles used for leisure purposes. It is void for hire, rental, courier, delivery or promotional use unless agreed in writing before work begins.

4. Warranty Claims Process

4.1 Claims must be submitted in writing to hello@vanbitious.co.uk with:

(a) your details

(b) vehicle registration

(c) proof of purchase

(d) description of the issue

(e) supporting photographs

4.2 Additional information may be requested.

4.3 The vehicle may be required at our Aberdeen workshop for inspection. Transport is the client’s responsibility.

4.4 If a valid defect is confirmed, Vanbitious will provide the remedy stated in Section 1.4.

4.5 Third party repair costs will not be reimbursed unless pre approved in writing.

5. Third Party Work and Voiding of Warranty

5.1 This warranty is void if any third party interferes with, adjusts or repairs any installation before Vanbitious has inspected it.

5.2 This warranty is void if the customer removes or modifies any component before inspection.

5.3 Claims may be rejected if third party interference prevents proper assessment.

6. Customer Responsibilities

6.1 To maintain warranty cover you must:

(a) maintain the vehicle and installed components

(b) monitor seals, fixings and fittings

(c) avoid overloading installed items or the electrical system

(d) keep the vehicle weather sealed

(e) report issues promptly

(f) bring the vehicle for inspection when required

(g) keep the vehicle insured

(h) avoid adding electrical equipment that exceeds system capacity

6.2 Failure to follow these responsibilities may void or reduce warranty cover.

7. Timeframes and Scope

7.1 The warranty begins on the date the work is completed.

7.2 Repairs do not extend the original warranty period.

7.3 Manufacturer warranties are governed solely by the manufacturer.

8. Electrical Systems and Lithium Battery Kits

8.1 This warranty does not cover incorrect installation, misuse or alteration of electrical systems.

8.2 All electrical systems must be installed by competent persons.

8.3 Batteries must have correct fusing, polarity, isolation, ventilation and charging. Damage caused by overheating, restricted airflow, reversed polarity or overloading is not covered.

8.4 Self install electrical kits are covered only by manufacturer warranties.

9. Statutory Rights and Governing Law

9.1 Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.

9.2 This warranty is governed by the law of Scotland. Any dispute will be heard in the Scottish courts.

9.3 Vanbitious may update this policy. The version in place at the time of contract applies.
